Permanent power supply
SuitePads are configured to get updates from our servers when in standby mode, when no guest is in the room and when no key card has been inserted. To make sure every guest gets a fully charged tablet on his arrival, we advise you to plug the docking station into a wall outlet with permanent power supply.
WiFi network
SuitePads communicate with our servers via Internet and load all updates from these servers. For that reason the SuitePads need to get WiFi access. This can be done in two ways:
- The tablets use a dedicated (hidden) SSID
- The tablets use the existing guest WiFi
Requirements for the WiFi infrastructure
<aside>
⚠️ For Voice over IP (VoIP / SIP integration / SuitePad Phone), there are additional important Wifi requirements further below.
</aside>
- All SuitePads support the 802.11b and 802.11bg WiFi standards. Some device types also support 802.11n (2,4/5GHz). Please see your device's data sheet to be certain.
- The tablets receive an IP address through DHCP.
- Please ensure your hotel's network has sufficient IP addresses available to accommodate both your new SuitePad tablets and your current network burden.
- The WiFi reception/signal strength per tablet should not be worse than -70 dBm
- The access point frequencies should not overlap. Using the 2,4GHz band the channels 1, 6, and 11 should be used.
- The WiFi password needs to be permanent
